GP Visual Studio Tools Installation

To use visual studio tools with Visual Studio Express a few additional steps are required to get Visual Studio to work with the Dynamics GP add-ins.

Follow the steps in this order on the client you are installing Visual Studio Express (VS2010):

1) Install VS2010Express

2) Install VSIso Shell (Visual Studio Isolated Shell-Free download from Microsoft)

3) Apply VS10sp1-KB983509 (Visual Studio Service Pack 1)

4) Install Dynamics GP 2013

5) Install Dynamics GP SDK (VS Tools for Dymnamics GP) from GP Tools folder

6) If you are using VS Express, you will need to copy the Dynamics Add-ins from the default VS location to the local users VS profile as follows:

(Windows 7 user folders)

Copy from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplatesCache\VisualBasic\1033\DynamicsGPForm.zip

Paste to:C:\Users\<local username>\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Templates\ItemTemplates\Visual Basic\DynamicsGPForm.zip

Copy from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplatesCache\VisualBasic\Dynamics GP\DynamicsGPProject.zip

paste to: C:\Users\<local username>\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual Basic\DynamicsGPProject.zip
