Understanding CRM views

A key to using Microsoft CRM is making sure that you have modified the "data views" so that they contain the fields you need so that you can easily navigate around in CRM and find the data you need.

There are 2 types of views:

1. System views - views that everyone sees and uses

2. Personal views - views that each user sees and uses

Modifying System Views

It is extremely easy to modify one of the existing system views. To modify a system view, perform the following:

1. Select the view you want to modify (for example, click on contacts, and then select the view Active Contacts).

2. Click on the Customize tab at the top of CRM.

3. Click on the View button to edit the view you currently have selected.

To Make a System View the Default System View

1. Navigate to the area that you want to modify (accounts or contacts).

2. Click on the Customize tab at the top of CRM.

3. Click on the System Views menu button.

4. Select the system view you want to set as the default and then from the "more actions" button select the "set default" option.

To Create a Personal View

1. Navigate to the area you want to create a view on (Accounts, contacts, etc...).

2. From the view drop down box, select create person view.
